Tell us about your beautiful brand…

It really is my third baby, besides my two actual children. PURE MAMA has been an absolute labour of love and as a brand we are on a mission to empower woman to embrace the real and raw beauty of pregnancy. We do this with beautiful, nourishing skincare that allows connection, as well as encouraging woman to take a moment to be present during their pregnancy. We live in such a fast-paced, busy world, that we often forget to take a moment to nourish and connect with our bodies, so we really strive to do this as a brand.

How would you describe becoming a mama?

Hectic but immensely rewarding, and in so many ways. I absolutely adore my children, but like any other mum, there are hard moments, hours, or days. I also love working, so I try not to be too hard on myself around societal expectations around the mum/work life balance. If I look back to my first baby, I found it was quite lonely and this isn’t something that is talked about enough. I know that many other parents would be in the same boat, and it really is hard! This time around is a bit different as I am working a lot more and have more family support as we moved from Auckland to Papamoa. Best decision ever.

When are you at your most creative?

Honestly, it is when I have some clear head space to think without my brain being in full mum or work mode. This usually happens when I am driving, showering or out for a walk. I listen to a lot of inspirational business and creative podcasts, which often inspire different ways of thinking.

Outside of your career, can you share some of your passions in life?

I am very much a social butterfly, so love quality time with friends and family. We also live right by the beach, so I love that, along with getting out and about. I also love food and wine, but I am not sure you would call those passions haha.

Favourite self-care ritual?

As a busy mother, it really is a long hot shower. Nothing beats it. I still use our Bump Scrub as an all-over body exfoliator and the smell of it just puts me into relaxation mode.

A book that everyone should read?

So, confession… I’m not really a book person, so you probably shouldn’t take my recommendation. I do love a good podcast though. My current favourite for those with an entrepreneurial spirit is ‘How I built this’ by Guy Raz.

How will you be relaxing this summer?

We are getting married this summer, finally! It’s been three years and three different dates. Covid really set us back as my fiancés family are all in the UK, and they couldn’t make it out until now. I don’t think there will be much relaxing, but there will be a lot of fun, laughing, food, and quality family time. I am somewhat of an active relaxer anyway so I wouldn’t want it any other way.
