We spoke to Atkin about the magic of the new generation Dyson AirwrapTM multi-styler and why it should be a must in every hair salon.
What do you love most about the newly re-engineered Dyson Airwrap™ multi-styler and the technology behind it?
Wow, where do I start? The Dyson AirwrapTM multi-styler utilises powerful and precise airflow to simultaneously style and dry, and it doesn’t use extreme heat which saves you time and your strands health - a total win-win situation. Together with its re-engineered attachments which harness enhanced Coanda airflow, the Dyson AirwrapTM multi-styler is suitable for different hair types, lengths and styles so anyone and everyone can use it. The new attachments are amazing and it really is a tool that you can use to create so many different styles.
What makes the Dyson AirwrapTM multi-styler unique?
There really is no other tool on the market like the Dyson AirwrapTM multi-styler; it’s my secret weapon. Traditional hair styling tools rely on excessive temperatures to style hair, which is a problem that needed to be solved, as it causes unnecessary and irreparable hair damage. This is where the Dyson AirwrapTM multi-styler is different because it harnesses enhanced Coanda airflow to style hair while it dries simultaneously. It also uses intelligent heat control to protect hair from extreme damage by monitoring the temperature to ensure it doesn’t exceed the chosen setting. Protecting hair health is so important to me as I want my hair, and my clients hair to be in the best condition possible.

Can you tell us about the Dyson AirwrapTM multi-styler’s various attachments? Which is your current favourite and why?
Firstly, there is the new Coanda Smoothing dryer which has essentially combined two attachments into one. This attachment dries your hair from wet when in the dry mode and then with the flick of a switch, it transforms into smoothing mode, which is essentially a mini flyaway attachment. It helps hide flyways in a single pass with no extreme heat and is the perfect finishing tool to perfect your look - especially if your hair is prone to frizz.
The other attachment changes are to the barrels. Instead of having two barrels (one for the left side and one for the right side of the head), you can now just switch airflow direction by rotating the cool tip from side to side. So you only have to use the one attachment rather than manually switching between two different barrels mid-style. Talk about engineered for speed styling!
The other key change to the attachments is to the brushes: the firm brush and the soft brush. They’ve been re-engineered with an increased volume of airflow that is propelled through the machine to harness the Coanda effect, to attract and align hair for a straight style. It’s too hard to choose my favourite as there’s something for everyone!

It doesn’t use extreme heat and this is really important when styling your hair from wet, as it is at its most fragile then. Just like the Dyson SupersonicTM hair dryer Professional, it has intelligent heat control that measures the temperature 40 times a second to ensure it’s not unnecessarily compromising the integrity of your hair.
